How Balancing Ways Work
Anderson Static Balancing Ways are ready to use right out of the box. Since gravity always exerts its force straight down there is no need for the balancing way itself to be level, nor are centers required to position your part. The principle of static balancing is to allow the free rotation of your part with the balancing way adding minimum amount of friction and drag.
Simply place the part to be tested so it or its arbor is cradled by the discs and gently rotate the part. Gravity will then accurately indicate an out of balance condition by causing the heavy point on the part to stop at the bottom of the rotation. Weight can be added or material removed until the part stops its rotation in random positions. In this manor the balancing way will quickly indicate a balanced or out of balanced condition.
